For Teens, Young Adults, and Adults Who Feel Stuck in Their Own Minds
Something feels off.
Your mind will not slow down.
You feel on edge, unsettled, or tight in your body.
You replay conversations.
You question your decisions.
You wonder if you missed something important.
Even when nothing obvious is happening, you feel both wired and exhausted.
You may know it’s anxiety.
Or you may just know that you just don’t feel like yourself.
Anxiety doesn’t always look dramatic. It doesn’t always mean panic attacks.
Often, it shows up as constant internal pressure.
A mind that keeps scanning for what could go wrong.
An inability to fully relax.
A fear that if you stop thinking about it, something bad will happen.
And over time, even the smallest things feel like too much.
Why Anxiety Doesn’t Just Go Away
Anxiety is not random. It is your brain trying to protect you.
It developed to keep you alert, prepared, and safe. In many ways, it is extremely helpful. It notices risk. It anticipates problems. It pushes you to care.
But when anxiety becomes chronic, it starts misreading ordinary life as threat.
It tells you to analyze more. Think harder. Prepare better. Stay vigilant.
At the same time, it sends another message:
Do not let this feeling go. If you relax, that is when something bad will happen.
So you get stuck.
You want relief.
But you also feel like you need the anxiety in order to function.
That tension keeps the cycle alive.
You may begin masking how overwhelmed you feel. You minimize it. You try to power through. You tell yourself you should be stronger.
Meanwhile, your body stays tight. Your thoughts keep looping. Your sense of ease disappears.
How Therapy With Me Creates Real Change
Real change does not come from trying harder.
It does not come from telling yourself to calm down or pushing through another wave of overthinking.
It comes from understanding what your anxiety is doing and learning how to respond differently to it.
In our work together, we will slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface.
We will look at when your anxiety tends to intensify.
What it is reacting to.
What it is trying to protect you from.
We will explore the fears underneath the overthinking, without assuming they are unreasonable or wrong.
Anxiety feels urgent for a reason, but sometimes it begins to treat uncertainty, vulnerability, or imperfection as if they are threats.
When we understand that pattern clearly, something shifts.
You are no longer fighting your mind.
You are learning how it works.
What Happens Next
If you recognize yourself in this, that matters.
You do not have to keep managing this alone.
I work with teens, young adults, and adults who are ready to feel more grounded in their own lives. People who are thoughtful, capable, and tired of living in constant internal strain.
Sessions are 50 minutes and $185.
I offer in-person therapy in Santa Barbara and virtual therapy throughout California.
The next step is a consultation.
During that call, we will briefly talk about what has been happening, what you would like to shift, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
You do not need to have the perfect explanation for what is wrong.
You do not need to be in crisis.
You just need to be ready for something to change.
If that feels true for you,
Schedule your consultation below.
